Physician - Orthopaedic Surgery - Shoulder - Virginia-Employed Ortho Upper Extremity opportunity with Carilion Clinic and Virginia Tech Carilion Schoo
Carilion Clinic, headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia, is searching for an ACGME residency trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with fellowship training in upper extremity and shoulder care to take over a well established practice.
Candidates should have training in and a commitment to management of upper extremity trauma, arthroscopic and open bony or soft tissue shoulder reconstruction, and arthroplasty for degenerative disease and trauma.
The provider will join an Orthopaedic Department with over 45 physicians representing all subspecialties of Orthopaedics and work in conjunction with the Hand, Trauma and Sports sections as a member of the Sports Medicine section.
The ideal candidate should possess strong academic credentials as well as a commitment to excellence in patient care, teaching, and research.
This position offers the opportunity to step into a highly productive upper extremity and shoulder practice.
Surgeries are performed at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 703-bed academic/tertiary care center with a busy Level 1 Trauma program with full support by an orthopaedic trauma and fracture service.
Access and operative time is also available at affiliated outpatient and ambulatory surgery sites.
Enjoy working with Orthopaedic residents from the University of Virginia who have five, 10-week rotations in Roanoke during the PGY3 and PGY4 years of their training and an AGME accredited Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Fellow.
The position includes an academic appointment at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine as well as research opportunities and support with the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute in Roanoke.
