Job Overview

The Office for Education Innovations, Inclusive Excellence, and Community Partnerships is seeking a full-time Associate to join the team in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH).
CECH serves as a model of and resource for diversity that actively supports, empowers, prepares, respects, and celebrates all students, staff, faculty, and community members.
We do this by advancing, sustaining, and promoting diversity and inclusion in our personal reflections, intellectual pursuits, and professional development.

This position will support the partnership and social and racial justice work of the college.
This position reports to the Associate Dean of Education Innovations and Community Partnerships, working in conjunction with the Assistant Dean for Inclusive Excellence and Community Partnerships.

Primary duties of the Associate To include, but are not limited to:
manage, design, develop, modify and present programs by conducting needs assessments and making recommendations; implement policies and procedures that impact radical inclusion to affect a cultural collective of belonging; prepare and edit reports and/or newsletters and develop publication materials; serve as a resource by providing training, benchmarking, and research based on feedback and competitive standards related to diversity, equity, and inclusion and k-12 partnerships; facilitate conversations and meetings related to programs; support Assistant & Associate Deans; management of calendars/schedules; sending E-Mails on behalf of the Assistant and Associate Deans; survey management; event coordination; critical thinking around synthesizing meeting notes/surveys/themes.

Salary up to $55,000 based upon education and experience.

Essential Functions

  • Perform responsible administrative staff functions for a designated university official, frequently of a confidential nature, concerning administrative activities of substantial complexity.
  • Recommend the development of operating policies and procedures, advise and assist administrator in policy and strategy formulation.
  • Prepare responses to inquiries.
  • Identify and review problem areas such as staffing levels, operating procedures, budgetary support, etc.
  • Review and evaluate proposals concerning operational activities of designated units.
  • Maintain liaison with designated unit directors and administrators, as well as external offices and agencies to insure conformity to external policies and procedures.
  • Prepare memos, speeches, and position statements, as required.
  • Represent designated administrator, as needed, with moderate authority to make commitments on administrative policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of budget request and narrative, as required.
  • Interview and recommend the employment of support staff.
  • May provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.
    e.
    , hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.
    ).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years experience; -OR- Associate's degree and five (5) years experience; -OR- seven (7) years experience.
Degree and experience must be in a related field.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Demonstrated experience working with ethnically and culturally diverse students or populations preferably in a college or university setting.
  • Knowledge of changing educational landscape for marginalized populations.
  • Solutions oriented with a drive for innovation and spirit of collaboration.
  • Experience in event planning and change management.
  • Commitment to excellence, communication, listening, and attention to detail.
  • Team player with ability to work independently.
  • High quality professional, oral, written, and e-communications that drive engagement and information.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, plan, and follow-up on multiple tasks and projects.
  • Comfortable with the use of technology and open to learning new systems and technology as needed.
  • One (1) year of employee supervision experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
