This position decontaminates, assembles, sterilizers, and distributes instruments, supplies, and equipment for patient care.The job duties for the Central Service Tech position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Sterilize instruments, equipment, linen, and supplies using various types of sterilizers and aerators.
- Identify and assemble instrument procedure trays according to the prescribed manner.
- Dispense products requested for sterile and non-sterile equipment and supplies. Assemble and wrap materials, instruments and supplies according to established aseptic technique.
- Maintains accurate documentation related to activities, including responsibility for creation of lot numbers for all sterilized items for tracking and recall purposes.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: Experience in position preferred but not required.
Other: Must demonstrate basic interpersonal skills, complete orientation in a satisfactory manner, and be able to fulfill fundamental component and essential elements of this position.
