This position decontaminates, assembles, sterilizers, and distributes instruments, supplies, and equipment for patient care.
The job duties for the Central Service Tech position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Sterilize instruments, equipment, linen, and supplies using various types of sterilizers and aerators.
  • Identify and assemble instrument procedure trays according to the prescribed manner.
  • Dispense products requested for sterile and non-sterile equipment and supplies. Assemble and wrap materials, instruments and supplies according to established aseptic technique.
  • Maintains accurate documentation related to activities, including responsibility for creation of lot numbers for all sterilized items for tracking and recall purposes.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.


Experience:
Experience in position preferred but not required.

Other: Must demonstrate basic interpersonal skills, complete orientation in a satisfactory manner, and be able to fulfill fundamental component and essential elements of this position.
