GSI Commerce Solutions, Inc., an eBay company seeks, Senior Programmer/Analyst in Roanoke, Virginia.
Job Duties: Responsible for Working with fellow programmers, analysts and managers to develop innovative solutions which provide the transactional support and analytical insight clients need to run their businesses while driving performance, scalability and reliability into every solution. Act as technical and functional point of contact.
Work with clients, customer service, distribution center and IT teams to identify the project objectives and define detailed requirements. Perform in depth analysis, create technical design, write scope of work documents and provide effort/cost estimate for projects. Proactively come up with design, identify constraints, explore alternate options and communicate to business management and the client. Provide technical guidance to the team on the actual development and test scenarios. Review test plans and co-ordinate testing. Implement new features, components, and services employing AS 400 based technologies with little direct supervision. Lead requirements analysis and development planning activities. Lead resolving testing and production issues when they arise. Produce detailed and accurate documentation relating to assigned tasks when necessary. Multi-task and work on multiple projects, tickets and issues at the same time. Work independently and also provide assistance to business and IT teams. Collaboratively work with other IT support teams. Provide on-call support during off-hours. Work with teams located in different geographical locations. This position has no direct reports and does not supervise/manage other staff.
Minimum Requirements: Masters degree , or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or Engineering or closely related quantitative discipline and three (3) year of experience in job offered or three (3) years of experience in software engineering or program analysis or Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or Engineering or closely related quantitative discipline and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in software engineering or program analysis.
Special Skill Requirements: Experience must include: RPG ILE; RPG; CL or CLLE; Relational database concepts such as AS400; Source Code Management such as Aldon; Hawkeye; SQL; Project and Software Development through various phases; Analysis, Design, Development and Testing; Microsoft office products such as Visual Studio, Visio, Word, Excel; Java.
