Maintenance Manager REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Chief of Operations BASIC FUNCTION This position ensures that the facilities and equipment are maintained to adequately and safely sustain the overall operation of P1 Technologies, in strict accordance with specified procedures, instructions, and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1) Plan, organize, and direct all services provided by Maintenance to meet operating objectives.
2) Ensure that the following maintenance activities are covered:
preventive maintenance scheduling and documentation, regulatory compliance, procurement of supplies, coordination with outside contractors, project planning, facility and equipment safety inspections, grounds maintenance, and building security.
3) Direct and coordinate employees' work activities to ensure that maintenance goals are met.
4) Coordinate with Human Resources to fulfill staffing, training, and manpower management requirements, including performance feedback and all safety compliance initiatives.
5) Review work capabilities and anticipated workload to establish and/or revise service standards, staffing, scheduling and procurement requirements, procedural guidelines, and duty assignments.
6) Help other work areas to improve equipment performance, production or process methods, quality, or efficiency.
7) When necessary, inspect, expedite, or perform maintenance services in order to help meet deadlines.
8) Supply workers with tools, fixtures, machines (setup, calibrate and/or troubleshoot if necessary), or other supplies as needed.
9) Recommend expenditures for various provisions, based on anticipated demand and the current supply of Maintenance resources.
10) Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control activities as directed.
11) Recommend and coordinate procedures for facility and equipment maintenance, modification, or layout.
12) Review operational data and confer with others to help resolve maintenance problems and improve procedures.
13) Work with other managers to coordinate Company-wide initiatives.
14) Devise, prepare, and distribute reports or other communications as necessary.
15) Understand and follow quality-related standards and documentation.
16) Troubleshoot and dispose of processes or procedures as directed.
17) Lead all housekeeping initiatives in the Maintenance department throughout each shift.
18) Other duties as assigned.
ADVANCED DUTIES 1) Use profit & loss data to develop budgets and approve expenditures for specified supplies, materials, or human resources.
2) Availability in the event of an unexpected breakdown and overtime as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS 1) Three to five (3-5) years of supervisory/managerial experience in plant maintenance is required.
2) Advanced technical knowledge required in the following areas:
electrical/electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, & pneumatics 3) Associate degree or equivalent formal instruction preferred.
4) Must understand basic math concepts, including basic Metric/English conversions and linear measurement.
5) Must be proficient in blueprint & schematic reading, and interpretation.
6) Must be able to operate and maintain computers used facility-wide.
7) Must be able to work with the pressure of deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
8) Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving, communication, organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.
9) Must be comfortable with the coach's role, cross-training, and training other maintenance workers.
10) Must be able to work as a team player as well as independently, exploring and sharing ways to improve efficiency.
11) Must be able to read, comprehend, carry out, and communicate simple, but very detailed instructions, both written and oral 12) Must be detail-oriented:
accurate, consistent, thorough, neat, perceptive to material or product defects, and very punctual.
13) Must be able to maintain a satisfactory attendance record as required for this position.
14) Must demonstrate commitment to workplace safety and housekeeping.
EQUIPMENT USED Computers, drill presses, sandblasters, various saws, hydraulic presses, various hand-held tools, forklifts, solder iron, welder, etc.
Other equipment may be assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Requires good hand/eye coordination, use of fine manipulation with hands and fingers, use of foot pedal, close/color vision, minimal fumes, moderate noise, ability to lift up to 65 pounds, ability to work at varying heights, frequent bending, stooping, standing and walking.
