GS-08:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-7). Examples of specialized experience are:
Directs and monitors initial incident activities. Determines forest aviation needs while ordering personnel, equipment, and supplies, provides technical expertise for helicopter projects within the forest, including aviation activities related to prescribed fire, fire suppression and resource management, and assists in the development of training techniques related to helicopters and helicopter firefighting duties for the forest and regional fire management program GS-09:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-8). Examples of specialized experience are:
Assisted in administering aircraft contracts, contract language changes, and in completing related reports, records, and payment documents, assisted in planning and coordinating aviation support and helicopter personnel in support of prescribed fire, fire suppression and resource management, and provided technical direction or supervision to helitack employees. Selective Placement Factors Minimum of 90 days experience performing on-the-line (Primary/Rigorous) wildland fire suppression duties as a member of an organized fire suppression crew or comparable unit that utilized knowledge of wildland fire suppression, containment or control techniques and practices under various conditions. This experience must be documented with specific dates in your work history/resume or IQCS record.
