To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date . GS-9:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-7) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in federal or other service that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position may have involved work such as the following:
performing technical appraisal assignments that involved examining loan programs and provisions to include application of regulations, decisions, procedures, legislation and other guidelines governing various loan program functions in specific phases of loan program activities; or valuation of real estate property using recognized methods/techniques to appraise which meet all the provisions of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) assisting in preparation of non-complex residential appraisal reports and a full range of standard and non-standard assignments for the purpose of resolving a variety of non-recurring mortgage loan/grant problems; or preparation of non-complex residential appraisal reports; or performing activities supporting day-to-day operations including analysis/research and resolution of issues related to administering mortgage or other financial products or activities;or communicating and assisting external parties such as issuers, contractors or industry participants with regard to mortgage or financial related activities. Specialized experience may also have included the following:
interpretation of building plans, specifications and all related construction exhibits as they are employed in various proposed construction areas; and/or evaluation of the influence on the appraised value of flood zones, airports, subsidence, erosion, and other factors which have potential impact on valuation; and/or review of appraisal projects and reports, associated research, and evaluation of sales, costs, income, and other economic and social data affecting property value. OR Applicants may substitute education for experience at grade GS-09. A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, if related, may be substituted. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR Applicants may combine education and experience to qualify for grade GS-09. To calculate, first identify the education you have earned beyond your first year of study as a percentage of a total of two years of study. Then identify the number of months of specialized experience you have as a percentage of 12 months. Add the two percentages. The total must equal at least 100 percent in order to be qualifying. For example, an applicant who has 27 semester hours of graduate level education (i.e, 50% of graduate education required beyond the first 18 credit hours earned) and who has 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e., 50% of the one year of specialized experience required) would meet 100% and thus be qualified for the position. Note:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience you document, to include volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
