SENIOR SPORTS SALES AND SERVICES MANAGER (ON-SITE)
Senior Sports Sales and Services Manager (On-Site)Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge (VVBR), a destination marketing organization, currently has a full-time (salary/exempt) opening for a Senior Sports Sales and Services Manager.
The Senior Sports Sales & Services Manager plays a key role to promote, market, and sell Virginia's Blue Ridge as a premier sports event destination to maximize the region's economic impact through sports travel and tourism.
This position is responsible for managing sales activity in an effort to promote the region as the destination of choice for sports events.
The focus of this position is to recruit, plan, manage and oversee regional or national sports events that are suitable for and beneficial to VVBR.
This position plays a pivotal role in cultivating strong community relationships.
This position is responsible for implementing and executing all planning and management strategies for events that are either owned or supported by VVBR.
Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Tourism or Parks & Recreation with a minimum of four years' experience in sports sales.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to meet with clients, hospitality industry partners, elected officials and co-workers.
Must be highly organized and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
Microsoft Office and CRM system proficiency required.
Must maintain a valid driver's license in order to perform responsibilities related to job functions.
Must have ability for local and out-of-town travel and to work flexible hours as needed.
Familiarity with youth, amateur and collegiate sports market and tourism industry required.
