will give you the opportunity to lead a team of Employment Specialists as they support people with disabilities in achieving their employment goals.
We work one-on-one with people in their communities to prepare them for work, get jobs, and support them with training on the job.
Area Coordinators help ensure that this work is done effectively and meets the needs of the people we support.
This position will support Employment Specialists working with referrals from the following Commonwealth of Virginia's Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services offices:
Roanoke.
Experience in Employment Services or a related field is required for this position.
Here are just some of the things our Area Coordinators are doing each day:
Empowering people with disabilities to change their lives through employment Ensuring that their team has all the tools and resources for success Coordinating multiple services, by multiple staff in a variety of settings Reviewing and providing feedback on the work done in the community Participate in hiring new staff Training new staff on providing quality services Cover services in the community as needed One-on-one meetings with clients to discuss employment goals and opportunities Helping clients navigate the journey from resume to long-term employment Setting up internship opportunities for youth with disabilities Some perks of the job:
