This positionwill supporttheGastroenterologyOffice located @ Riverside 3 inRoanoke,Virginia

As part of the health care team, assumes primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages.Utilizes delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team oriented, collaborative approach to patient care.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education:Graduate of school of professional nursing from an accredited college. BSN preferred.
Experience:Previous experience in Hepatology and clinic experience preferred but not required.Strong clinical background is required.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration:Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in theCommonwealthofVirginiaor new graduate of approved program eligible to sit for theVirginialicensure exam.CPR is required.

Qualifications:Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements.Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.Must be able to meet essential job functions. Must possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to provide good patient education & possess the ability to work well with others in skills mix, work on projects and research studies as designated by provider. Will work with other staff in department to assure adequate coverage for clinic.Good communication skills, high phone volume.Critical thinking and aability to multi-task and work independently without supervision, a must.Nurses work in disease specific environment, but are cross trained to all areas of gastroenterology. Able to triage patient needs face-to-faceor via telephone. Workwith interdisciplinary teams to meet patient needs. Must be a team player and able to adapt to change well. Team organized patient care. Computer skills required for EMR use.
